The project

How it is built

Lido Cascata brings together two businesses booked in completely different ways: the beach umbrella, chosen by looking at a map of rows and spots, and the stay at the accommodation, booked by nights and guests.

The constraint that shaped the project

Keeping the two paths separate from the first screen avoids the most common mistake: entering the wrong flow and realising three steps later. Someone who wants an umbrella for Sunday and finds themselves choosing a number of nights does not think they took a wrong turn — they think the site is broken, and they phone. The fork has to come before the visitor invests time, not after.

How it works

  • Beach booking with position selection: the row and the spot matter as much as the date, because the front row is not the fifth.
  • Accommodation booking, with the classic logic of nights and guests.
  • Seasonal offers, which at a beach club change several times over a summer.
  • Italian and English.

The part you do not see

Booking an umbrella is a problem of occupying physical space, not of dates: two people can book the same day as long as it is not the same spot. It is the opposite of a hotel room, where the resource is unique and time is the variable. Confusing the two models produces wrong availability — and on a beach the error surfaces on Sunday morning, with two families standing in front of the same umbrella.
