Website for a seafood restaurant and pizzeria: a browsable menu, table booking and WhatsApp contact all reachable from the first screen.
The project
Osteria del Notaro is a seafood restaurant and pizzeria. People opening a restaurant's website want two things and nothing else: what is on the menu and how to book. Everything else comes later.
Both main actions are reachable without scrolling. Lengthening the path on a restaurant site means losing the booking to the next place: the decision is made in thirty seconds, usually on a phone, often while already out with somebody waiting for an answer. A menu that opens as a file to download is, in that context, the same as having no menu at all.
The menu is the content that changes most often and the one nobody enjoys updating. If changing it means remaking a document and re-uploading it, by the second season the site is showing dishes the kitchen no longer serves — which is worse than having no menu, because the customer arrives expecting something that is not there. It has to be built so that changing a price takes thirty seconds.
