The project

How it is built

Facilitation Zone is an international network of facilitators supporting organisations through change. An intangible service, which the site has to make concrete.

The constraint that shaped the project

The difficulty is explaining what actually happens during a facilitation programme. Without concrete examples it stays a list of abstract words — leadership, transformation, alignment — that every competitor uses with exactly the same meaning, which is none. The site exists to answer the question visitors do not ask out loud: "in practice, what happens when you show up".

How it works

  • Areas of work: leadership development and cultural transformation, presented as recognisable situations rather than as categories.
  • Training offer and ways of working together, because the second question is always how the collaboration runs.
  • An events calendar, which is the proof that the network is active rather than a statement of intent.
  • Italian and English, as a network working across borders requires.

The part you do not see

An events calendar is the most fragile content on a website: if it falls behind it does more damage than its absence would, because a past event given prominence tells the visitor that nothing has happened since. It has to be built so that expired dates take themselves off the stage, without depending on somebody remembering to remove them.
