Wichee – case study

Wichee is a cloud platform for insurance intermediaries: it brings together the customer-facing side and the internal management tools, in a sector where regulation weighs as much as features.

The constraint that shaped the project

Compliance is not a separate section. The IDD directive, GDPR and Italian Legislative Decree 231/01 are not satisfied with a disclosure page: traceability of operations and disclosure duties have to hold at every point where data is entered, changed or read. That changes how every single function is written, not only the ones that look regulatory.

How it works

• A front end the intermediary can brand: the same platform presents itself to the end customer with the identity of whoever is using it, not its own.
• A management back end for daily work, where the real hours are spent.
• Compliance modules for IDD, GDPR and 231, hooked into operations rather than sitting beside them.

The part you do not see

When every operation has to leave a trace, the technical question changes: not "how do I store this" but "how do I show, two years from now, who wrote it, when, and against which version of the terms". An audit log designed afterwards always fits badly, because by then half the actions already run through paths nobody expected to have to account for.
